The Daily Stoic Quote
You are not your body and hair style, but your capacity for choosing well. If your choices are beautiful, so too will you be.

Daily Stoic Question
Are my choices beautiful?
Daily Finance Stoic Response
One of my favorite movies, Fight Club, had a similar passage to Epictetus’ quote above.
You are not your job, you’re not how much money you have in the bank. You are not the car you drive. You’re not the contents of your wallet.
Stoicism would argue we are the sum of our choices, good or bad. If our choices are beautiful, then we will be beautiful.
I cannot say that all of my life choices have been beautiful, nor right.
Some were not good, and I learned from them.
Some were horrible, and I can only regret they were ever made.
Yes, I have made mistakes. But, I have also made good choices.
Fortunately, with Stoicism, we don’t focus on the past, or the future, but only the present moment. Thus, it only matters if the choices I make right NOW are beautiful. That is what I need to focus on: personally, professionally, and financially.
It is like they always say, the first step is always the hardest.
Make sure every decision you make, starting right now, is a beautiful decision.
Until next time,
